About Me

Daniele Cavalca was born in Montecchio Emilia (RE – Italy) on October 8th 1987.
He begins to play drums at the age of six at the music school of Praticello di Gattatico. In 2001 he attends the Conservatory during the High School period in Parma.
Since 2006 he frequents the class of percussion of the “Accademia Internazionale della Musica” in Milano, where he studies disciplines of classical music under the guidance of David Searcy, Jonathan Scully and Mike Quinn; in the meantime he takes drum lessons with Marco Volpe in Milano. In March 2008 he moves to the “A. Peri” Conservatory of Reggio Emilia where he graduates with full marks. Since January 2010 he’s studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston as a “Full Time” student after winning the scholarship during the Berklee Five-week Summer Performance Program in the summer of 2009.
Since 1995 he plays drums and vibraphone in many rock bands and jazz ensembles with which he performs in northern Italy. From 2007 to 2008 he record Pop-rock albums as a drummer with different songwriters in the area of Reggio Emilia and Modena. Since 2007 he collaborates with the “Da-Da-Dang”, a popular percussion group of northern Italy. In 2008 he plays drums in different “operetta” companies in the area of Reggio Emilia. he works as a studio drummer with different rock bands in the area of Parma and Reggio Emilia. *Between 2009 and 2011 he record as a drummer, percussionist and bass player in the albums “Color of Red Island” and “Synthesis” with the Claudio Scolari Project. In 2013 he starts a collaboration with an electro music project.
Since 2005 he collaborates as a percussionist and timpanist in many Opera seasons. “Manon Lescaut”, performed in Parma at the Regio Theatre in 2005,“Madama Butterfly”performed in Pegognaga (MN) with the conductor Ilmar Lapinsch in 2006. He plays percussion in “Carmina Burana” performed in Milan (Dal Verme Theatre) and in Bologna (Real Collegio di Spagna) in 2007. In 2009 he plays percussion and vibraphone with the “La Verdi” orchestra in“West Side Story” performed in Mestre (Venice), Rome and L’Aquila with the conductor Wayne Marshall.
