About Me

Jordan Brooks dove into music headfirst at the age of five. After many years of piano, he soon realized his passion for the percussive arts. He is now dual majoring in percussion performance and contemporary writing and production at Berklee College of Music where he is a North American Scholarship Tour recipient and the recipient of the Vic Firth Scholarship. Jordan is a second-year member of the world-renowned Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps competing in the DCI World Championships. The SCV percussion ensemble performed at PASIC 2012 as the elite percussion section of DCI and will continue to set the standard for marching percussion internationally. While Studying abroad in Valencia, Spain, Jordan was selected among the Berklee Valencia Faculty to host an orchestral percussion clinic for the film scoring graduate students and to perform as the primary studio percussionist for all Berklee Student film scores. On March 11, 2012, Jordan represented Berklee in the Conservatory Project Chamber Ensemble performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. In Boston, he has performed in venues such as the Berklee Performance Center, Jordan Hall, and David Friend Recital Hall. In these venues Jordan has performed in various jazz, percussion, and orchestral ensembles, including the contemporary symphony orchestra where he was selected as a finalist for his marimba performance in the 2011 concerto competition. Jordan was featured in the Berklee percussion ensemble as a marimba soloist during the Berklee Percussion Days 2012 and will be featured as a vibraphone soloist in 2013. This summer he will be touring the nation performing with the world-renowned Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps. He is expecting to graduate Berklee in the spring of 2014.
