About Me

Jules became seriously interested in the guitar in 2004 through the sounds of guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, and Jimi Hendrix. When he was 16, Jules was called up on stage during a Buddy Guy show and got to solo with one of his blues heroes. Band experiences followed in the Bay Area with Broken Fourth and that’s when Jules knew he wanted to go to music school. He was admitted to Berklee College of Music in 2008 where he is currently finishing his second year as a double major in Performance and Music Therapy. During his time at Berklee, Jules has had opportunities to perform at school and in Boston and participate in student projects. As lead guitarist, Jules was selected to play at Berklee’s Jazz/Blues night and was the only performer of the eight acts to receive a standing ovation. He was invited to play lead guitar for the Boston band Hollow Vixen for whom he had to learn 13 original songs in one week to prepare for a live performance. When Jules is in the Bay Area, he delves into a wide range of styles playing with the band Dizzy Balloon and he plays with Man in Space who had a sold out show at the Union Room in San Francisco in December on 2009. They later played at Blake’s on Telegraph in Berkeley. He most recently performed in March at Biscuits and Blues, the only blues club in San Francisco. Another performance highlight came last summer when Buddy Guy invited him to play on stage at the Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, CA. This was the third time that Jules played with his idol, certainly the chance of a lifetime. Jules would like to combine his love for music with that of working with children in a way that is meaningful both to him and his community. Jules is on the Dean’s list at Berklee and is the recipient of the Stephen D. Holland Merit Scholarship of 2010/2011.
