About Me

Since he was a kid, Carlos Lara knew music was in him, maybe it was because of his musical ancestry from his father or maybe because of the musical education he had as a toddler listening to The Beatles and Michael Jackson. Either way Carlos found himself learning guitar at the age of 10 and making his first band, original songs and recordings by the age of 12.

Years passed by and he never quit making and recording music, it was in high school when he had the opportunity to record a full length album with his band “Lado B” in Nashville Tennessee with producers Ken Coomer (Wilco) and Charlie Brocco (George Harrison, Fleetwood Mac). After the album was done they had record deal offers with indie labels as well as EMI and Warner Music. Although many A&R’s really liked the sound and songs from the band, it wasn’t the time and place for them and decided to go separate ways after the tour in pursuit of their own dreams, planning to study in their different areas of interest and maybe reunite in the future.

Knowing that music was his passion and way of life, Carlos decided to make a professional career in music production. He began studying recording arts and music production for 2 years at Fermatta Music Academy in Mexico City and music production and technology for 3 years at Berklee College of Music. During his studies he worked as an “in house” producer/engineer for a professional recording studio as well as in freelance projects doing records, jingles, radio/t.v. spots and audio post-production for t.v. and film, owning a lot of real experience and having the opportunity to work with important record producers and engineers such as Thom Russo, Gustavo Borner, Carlos Lara Sr., Glenn Morrison; international and latin artists like Ely Guerra, Jenny Rivera, Luis Fonsi, Lynda, Fanny Lu, Aaron Díaz, PIlaseca, as well as in independent films: “Tuco”, “Contrapelo”, “Reino Guiñol” and television networks such as Televisa and Estrella TV.

In present days at the age of 29, Carlos is co-owner and partner of “NOMO Noise+Motion” a production company based in Mexico, specializing in music production, audio production & post-production, sound design, film production & post-production and 3D animation for commercial projects, companies and artists alike. With the pass of time, hard work and passion to succeed Carlos Lara is making his own way and reputation into the vast music and audio business.
