On June 1st, 2014 RJ retired as a Percussionist from the United States Army Band Field with over 20 years of service. Some of the most rewarding moments of his career have included performing and studying internationally with other musicians. Within the last five years of his Army career RJ had the opportunity to perform alongside the Red Army Choir and Band in Sakhalin, Russia; traveled to Shanghai, China as part of our International Outreach Program where we conducted clinics and performed for the students of the Dynamix Performing Arts Academy; conducted a series of clinics in Jazz Studies to the children of the greater Baghdad area of Iraq; and performed with the Vietnam People’s Army Ceremonial Military Band in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam.
In 2017, RJ earned his Bachelor’s degree in Professional Studies focused in Music Production from Berklee Online. RJ is currently enrolled as a student with Berklee Online as part of their Master’s Degree program with a focus in Music Production. A goal of RJ’s in pursuing multiple Music Production degrees from Berklee Online is to gain the skills needed to produce music that will help others share their music with the rest of the world.
