Cheryl Francisca Lee
Cheryl has always been passionate about music. Her musical foray started at the tender
age of six, when she first started piano lessons and has since completed her Grade 8 in
piano and obtained an Associate in Voice (ATCL) from Trinity College of London, UK,
under the tutelage of Ms Khor Ai Ming in Singapore. She started taking classical voice
lessons at the age of 14 and has been given many opportunities to perform at the
Esplanade’s Waterfront for the past 8 years, as well as performances at Victoria Concert
Her public debut performances include singing a duet for Christmas with a 300-strong
choir in Dec 2002 at Esplanade’s Powerhouse, a singer in Strolling Carollers, Vocal
Associates and Sophian Sisters, 2003-2004 at the Esplanade’s Waterfront. Most recently,
she as also performed as a member of the Singapore Lyric Opera Childrens’ Choir
(SLOCC) in their first public concert: I Can Give You The Starlight, and in The Reluctant
Dragon; where she got to both sing and dance.
Also actively involved in her school choirs in the past where she had been appointed
student conductors for both her Secondary school (CHIJ. St. Nicholas Girls’ School) and
Junior College (Catholic Junior College) back then, she also had the opportunity to
travel to Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth in Australia, Orlando di Lasso, Loreto in Rome
(Italy) and Prague, Czech Republic for international choir competitions and choral
festivals with her school choirs. She is also actively involved in her church choir activities
which performed a musical in celebration of the church’s patron saint St Francis Xavier,
and was held at Victoria Concert Hall in 2005.
Having also a passion for pop and rock music, Cheryl was the keyboardist and one of the
lead vocalists in a band formed by her college mates in a 5-piece band- The Sexies.
Since the band’s genesis in Dec 2006, their performances include; Monde.Gusto @ DXO
14th Dec 2006, Rock the Clock @ Gashaus 31st Dec 2006, Rock Da House @ Timbre 13th
Jan 2007, and the highlight as Opening band for Grammy-award winners Hoobastank @

and at the Powerhouse in July 2007 and as opening band for the Indie night of Mosaic
In June 2007, she was also the lead vocalist in the guest band Project Fly for DxO at the
Also, she has had the chance to perform as guest singer for Erick Guansing’s Concert-
The Promise held in Sept 2007, singing hip-hop and classical in Jay Chou’s Yi Fu Zhi Ming.
Her Opera involvements include La Traviata and Turandot with the Singapore Lyric
Opera Chorus and also a solo performance at the Opera in the Park in June 2008.
Cheryl was appointed the vocal coach for Dramabox’s production David the Best,
teaching cast members such as 100.3fm Radio DJ Huang Wen Hong, and theatre actress
Jo Tan and Patricia Toh. She was also the private vocal tutor for Mediacorp Artiste
Thomas Ong’s musical debut in January 2009 titled, Wild Wild Rose. Cheryl is also the
vocal trainer for the upcoming Chinese drama production this June, The Emperor’s New
Clothes for the Hokkien Hwei Kwan Association.
She was a vocal trainer with Epistage Academy, Academy of Rock and Overseas Family
School, SOMA teacher in Catholic high primary school as
well as freelance vocal coach.
2010 to present 2012
She is currently pursuing a dual major degree in Filmscoring and Electronic Production & Design (EPD) at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA.
She has been actively involved in performances for school projects and have had her own recitals in these past 2 years at the college. She was also invited twice to perform at UMASS BOSTON’s 2 Gala Events in 2010 Fall and Spring 2011. She is also one of the background vocalists for a local Armenian Salsa Jazz Band, known as the ‘Black Sea Salsa’, and has been performing regularly at Ryles Jazz Club since 2011.
Aside from school activities, she is also an office assistant work-study for the Scholarships Office at Berklee.
