There are many reasons why people get involved in certain lines of work. I believe that most people that I know that are passionate about their jobs weren’t born that way. Something, most likely, inspired them at some point in their development to really focus on a particular line of work. For me it started out of curiosity and the desire to better myself, which grew into a search for something that could almost be called a “musical enlightenment”.
In its most basic form, the “musical enlightenment” consists of finding the way to musically express exactly what you want, how you want, when you want to. In order to do this, I believe one has to strive, as with any line of work, to not be a student in the art, but an expert and an intellectual. The purpose of most of my work, is to accomplish this.
I think this philosophy on my music stems from the people that came before me. When I started music, I was purely doing it out of curiosity, but when I realized that people were enjoying it, I felt that I couldn’t stop. It wasn’t until I witnessed someone to be playing on what I felt, a near perfect level of musicianship, that I decided that I wanted to do the same. I would hope that I could someday inspire someone in the same way and to continue a tradition of excellence.
