Civil Engineer and Musician from the Colombian Caribbean
I did my Civil Engineering degree in Bogota, Colombia, and as for the music I went all the way to Australia to get my Bachelor in Contemporary Music from Southern Cross University.
In Australia, I promoted the Colombian music playing with Australians music from my homeland.
In Colombia, we have a band named Porrocandela which blends traditional music from the Colombian Caribbean with Rock and Funk. We have followed a business strategy that have produced some good results, but not enough to be thriving, so that’s why I started the Master in Music Business.
Even though I’m in Bogota, Colombia right now, my plan at the end of february of 2011 is to go to France and establish there in order to promote Porrocandela and other bands from Colombia for them to perform in stages throughout Europe.
I have a strong belief in the power of cultural identity among a group of people, which for me is the base for any pride and attempt to endure as a collectivity.
