About Me
Carlos Sanchez is a jazz pianist and aspiring producer who resides in Austin, Texas. His genre covers Rock, Jazz, Blues, Country, R&B, and Hip-Hop. He’s been playing for over 10 yrs and is currently attending the Berklee Music Online for Arranging and also attending Austin Community College for Audio Engineering.
He knew he wanted to be a musician at an early age but didn’t start playing music until he was 12. He began his musical journey with the violin but didn’t feel as close to music as he did with the piano. He began to learn classical music on the piano at the age of 14 in the small town of Edinburg, Texas and felt as though he needed something more than just classical music. So, at the age of 17 he began studying music at the University of Texas – Pan American and as he learned his music theory he began to figure out the blues. After that, he began to build on Jazz and started taking lessons with Berklee Alumnus Eddie De La Garza. From there he read more books on the subject and kept practicing Jazz. Aside from Jazz he has played with The David Jackson Project, which was a Dave Matthews inspired band, and recently he was touring with Highway 7, a country band who played covers from Carrie Underwood, Martina Mcbride, Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift. They also have originals that can be checked out at http://www.myspace.com/hwyseven
As of right now he is playing and touring with Bad Micky Ficky and creating Hip-Hop beats. Bad Micky Ficky is an R&B/Neo-soul/Hip-hop group. They have played down town Austin and are soon to be playing around Texas. You can check out their website at http://badmickyficky.com
