My name is Omar. I am a Musican and a visual artist. I have been playing guitar since childhood. I also pay Sitar in the Imdad Khani Style. I dabble with percussion and drum kit, but Guitar and Sitar are my main instruments. I am also a vocalist and a song writer and interested in composing music.

I have produced hip hop, DnB, Jungle, and experimental electronica under the name of Evil Art Form, and have collaborated with many local artists. I have been in a wide variety of bands in the Washington DC area, most notabley Diacritical, whose independent release I co-produced with Don Zientara of Inner Ear Studios. I have appeared on The BBC and VOA, and have been in Newsweek, Rollingstone and other magazines and publications.

I like Punk, Post-hardcore, Metal, Alt/Indie rock and many other rock sub-genres, but am also interested in sufism and sufi devotional music like Qawwali. I like artists such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Abida Parveen, Aziz Mian, and south asian classical and folk music like Bhangra.

When im not writing music i’m either making some instrument out of junk, painting, or drawing cartoons.
